FAQ
General
What devices does TorqueDesk support?
TorqueDesk runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later). The admin dashboard is iPad and Mac only.
Does TorqueDesk work offline?
An internet connection is required for syncing data, creating invoices, and pushing to QuickBooks. Some read operations may be available offline depending on what's been cached, but you should expect an active connection for normal use.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in a secure cloud database. Nothing is stored locally in a way that would be lost if you delete and reinstall the app.
Safety Inspections
What types of machines can be inspected?
TorqueDesk is built for forklifts and powered industrial vehicles (PIVs). The default checklist covers standard forklift inspection requirements. Contact us if you need a custom checklist for a specific machine type.
Is TorqueDesk compliant with OHSA inspection requirements?
The inspection checklist is based on standard industrial vehicle pre-shift and periodic inspection requirements. We recommend confirming with your compliance advisor that the checklist meets your specific regulatory obligations. We are not a compliance authority.
Can I customize the inspection checklist?
Custom checklists are available on the Business plan. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Billing
How does QuickBooks sync work for billing?
When you push a completed work order to QB, TorqueDesk creates an invoice in your QBO account using the line items from the work order. The customer must exist in QBO — TorqueDesk will match by name or prompt you to link records if there's no match.
What tax rate is applied to invoices?
TorqueDesk applies 13% HST to all invoices. This is fixed and reflects the standard Ontario HST rate. If your business operates in a province with a different rate, contact us.
