Getting Started
What You'll Need
Before you start, have the following ready:
- iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later
- TorqueDesk account — contact us to get set up
- QuickBooks Online credentials — needed for invoice sync (optional at first)
- Google account — needed for calendar integration (optional at first)
First Steps
1. Install the App
Download TorqueDesk from the App Store. Sign in with the credentials provided during onboarding.
2. Log In
Use your email and the temporary password from your welcome email. You'll be prompted to set a new password on first login.
3. Connect QuickBooks
Go to Settings → Integrations → QuickBooks. Tap Connect and sign in with your QB Online credentials. Once connected, work orders can be pushed directly to QB as invoices.
This step is optional but required before you can create invoices.
4. Connect Google Calendar
Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar. Tap Connect and authorize TorqueDesk. Completed work orders will create calendar entries automatically.
5. Add Customers
Go to Customers and tap +. Enter the company name, contact info, and billing address. Customers are linked to work orders and machines.
6. Add Machines
Open a customer record and tap Machines → Add Machine. Enter the make, model, serial number, and any other details. Machines are required to run safety inspections.
Setting Up Saved Line Items
Saved line items let you add common services and parts to work orders without typing them every time.
Go to Settings → Line Items and tap +. Enter a name, description, and default price. Line items can be overridden per work order — the saved values are just defaults.
Once saved, they appear in the line item picker when editing a work order.
